Level 2

4 Week Public Speaking Course

in London

Course Overview

Building on the foundations of our Level 1 training, our Level 2 course is designed to take your confidence to the next stage.

Using methods that draw on traditional acting techniques and improvisation, as well as mindfulness, we’ll help you ‘get out of your own head’ and focus on delivering impact and meaningful engagement with an audience.

Attending our Level 1 training is not essential for taking part in Level 2 but we do recommend people do both courses at some point to fully get to grips with our training methods.

Week 1: Building Trust With Audiences

A deep exploration into the concept of being vulnerable and how it can be used to both become truly comfortable in your own skin, as well as building trust and deep connections with audiences.

Week 2: Mastering Presence

How to use the power of the pause to create presence on stage and add a deeper emotional impact to what you say. Learn how stillness and silence are measures of courage, confidence and conviction.

Week 3: Energy

A look at the Law of Thermodyamics and how it can be applied to ourselves in order to transform nervous energy into something we can use.

Week 4: Final Speech Deliveries

On the last week of the course, you will have the opportunity to deliver a speech in front of a live audience. This is a excellent way to put your skills to the test and practice everything you have learnt

In all of our classes, there are plenty of opportunities to deliver speeches and you will deliver prepared speeches on themes set by your teacher, who will also provide feedback that will help you to grow and develop as a speaker.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to make complete use of your full range of expression including emotions, delivery, body language and psychical space

  • How to correctly use pauses to build presence and impact

  • How to tell memorable stories

  • How to use mindfulness and breathing to create a peak state for delivering a speech

  • How to harness vulnerability, honesty and your perceived “weaknesses” as your biggest strengths in communication

  • Practice delivering a speech to a real-life audience

Course details:

  • Four consecutive weeks of training

  • 2 hour 45 minutes hours per class

Testimonials

Helen Spooner

“I’d really really recommend this course! I was apprehensive about spending the money at first, but if you commit to the course, it is absolutely worth it. I felt that the focus on vulnerability/authenticity was really important in getting to the root of what causes my public speaking anxieties. Rather than teaching us to put on a mask and pretend to be someone else/hide our fear, Adam taught us to embrace them - and reframing my perspective like this I've found really useful. This course feels it really gets to the core of what makes us tick/anxious about public speaking, rather than just giving us techniques to fake it. I would whole heartedly recommend!”

"Mike and Adam are both really good teachers and I took a lot away from it. Each week you do something different and it’s not like normal public speaking courses. The focus is on vulnerability, authenticity and emotions. All of which make for powerful speeches. Would definitely recommend 10/10 🙂 Note: My course turned into an online course due to coronavirus. While probably not the same experience as doing it in person, it was still amazing, and Mike/Adam adapted very well to using Zoom.”

“I signed up for the course because I was absolutely terrified of an upcoming speech I had to make. The course has taught me so much about how to get comfortable with those fears and not see them as signposts that I will fail. I am now able to breathe into those feelings and get up and speak...and I am actually starting to really enjoy public speaking too! With a background in meditation, psychoanalysis and his own journey to working with his own fear of public speaking, Mike has amazing knowledge, experience and wisdom to share. He is a wonderful teacher. The course has helped me SO much and if anyone is on the fence, I would say go for it. You won't regret it.”
