Who is this course for?
This programme is designed for professionals who want to develop practical communication skills and become more intentional in the way they communicate at work.
It may be particularly useful if you:
Want to communicate more clearly in meetings and conversations.
Sometimes struggle to organise your thoughts before speaking.
Find yourself overthinking, rushing or over-explaining.
Want to feel more prepared when difficult conversations arise.
Find it challenging to disagree while maintaining a professional relationship.
Want to set boundaries more clearly.
Sometimes struggle to respond when you are challenged or asked an unexpected question.
Want to communicate your ideas and experience without either shrinking yourself or feeling that you have to "perform" confidence.
Would like greater awareness of your voice, body language and communication habits.
Want opportunities to practise rather than simply learn communication theory.
Would benefit from having practical tools you can continue using after the programme.
You do not need to consider yourself an "unconfident communicator" to benefit from the programme.
Communication can become more challenging for anyone when there is pressure, disagreement, uncertainty, visibility or high stakes.
Does This Sound Familiar?
You know your subject, but sometimes struggle to communicate it clearly.
You think about what you should have said after the conversation has already happened.
You have an idea in a meeting but hesitate before speaking.
You start answering a question and realise you are giving too much information.
You speak faster when you feel under pressure.
You find difficult conversations uncomfortable and are unsure how direct to be.
You want to say no or set a boundary, but worry about how the other person will react.
You receive feedback and find yourself becoming defensive, withdrawing or over-explaining.
You know what you want to say, but when someone challenges you, your thoughts suddenly feel less organised.
You want to communicate with confidence, but you don't want to adopt a communication style that doesn't feel like you.
If some of these situations feel familiar, this programme provides an opportunity to understand what is happening, practise different approaches and develop a set of tools that you can apply in your own workplace.

The Six-Week Programme
Week 1: Connect With Yourself
Self-Awareness, Internal Patterns & Emotional Regulation
Explore what happens internally when communication feels challenging.
Participants will explore:
Personal communication patterns
Triggers and automatic responses
Thoughts, emotions and physical responses
How internal states can influence communication
Creating space between an event and a response
Practical grounding and self-awareness techniques
Focus: Understanding what happens inside you when communication feels challenging, recognising your triggers and automatic responses, and exploring how your thoughts, emotions and reactions can influence the way you communicate.
Week 2: The Voice
Learn to project your voice with passion and energy through vocal exercises tailored to enhance resonance and clarity. Whether you have a naturally quiet voice or struggle to be heard, we’ll help you develop techniques to amplify your sound and speak with greater confidence. By mastering vocal control and projection, you’ll develop a voice that resonates more effectively and allows for clearer, more engaging communication.
Week 3: Body Language
Master the five fundamental principles of body language that enhance your public speaking, allowing you to communicate beyond words. By learning these principles, you'll discover how to express yourself authentically, using your body to reinforce your message and create a powerful connection with your audience. This approach encourages you to embrace your natural movements, ensuring your body language aligns with your speech for a more compelling and confident delivery.
Week 4: Speaking With Emotion
Unlock the power of emotion to enhance your speaking. Emotions are not just felt by your audience—they are heard in your voice, tone, and delivery. Through a series of focused exercises, you’ll learn how to infuse your words with genuine emotion, creating a more compelling and impactful connection with others. You'll discover how emotion can shape how you sound, making your message resonate deeply and leaving a lasting impression long after your words are spoken.
Speech Practice
In addition to the topics we cover each week, the second half of every class is dedicated to speech practice, ensuring you have ample opportunities to speak in front of others. We believe that the key to mastering public speaking is consistent, real-world practice, which is why we focus on creating an environment where you can gradually build your confidence.
In weeks 3 and 4 of the course, you’ll deliver speeches based on topics set by your teacher. Our set speech topics are designed specifically to help you explore the key themes of our courses and are a vital part of the training. Your teacher will then provide individual feedback, offering insights that help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement.
Speaking in front of a group can feel daunting, but the more you practice, the more natural it becomes. By repeatedly standing up and delivering your thoughts, you’ll grow not just in skill, but in your ability to engage and connect with an audience. This hands-on approach ensures you receive practical experience, valuable feedback, and the opportunity to refine your speaking style, making the learning process both dynamic and impactful.

Testimonials
Gemma Requena
“I met Michael in a taster session years ago and that day something changed inside me…
I followed his courses but for different reasons couldn’t join them until I saw the opportunity of this Public Speaking course on Saturdays. I must confess, that have been 4 tough days of intense mixed feelings. Every day in class you are exposed, vulnerable, and terrified but surprisingly, a moment after you feel absolutely exultant, confident, and calm as you know you can do it, and you know you can do it better every day. Mike led us smoothly through the process of knowing our fears, our inner thoughts and feelings, building our confidence day by day to ultimately let us be ourselves in front of the audience, and it is only that authenticity what will make you a good speaker. Don’t miss this course!! Mike, THANK YOU!”
Andy Topp
“A proper in depth look at the root cause of fear of public speaking. Mike deals with the fundamentals rather than learning tricks to disguise the fear. That's not to say he doesn't give you tips to help you through but once you have a better and deeper understanding of the issue, the quick win tips are less necessary. And then it was just a lot of FUN which I have never before said about public speaking. Thanks Mike”
Tanya Korobka
“I attended Mike's taster session and in the first 5 minutes of listening to him, I was SOLD! His life philosophy and public speaking techniques are so authentic and playful, you just totally lose yourself in them. Having just finished the course, I can honestly assure that it was the best thing I did for myself this year. Worth every penny and more! We were vulnerable, passionate, authoritative, spontaneous and with each session, I found myself dropping my mask, becoming less self-conscious and most importantly – actually connecting with the audience (which has been difficult before). Mike's course is more than just a public speaking course, it's a form therapy - it helps you to find yourself, own yourself and become more honest and present with all your communications – be it with friends, acquittances or colleagues”
